Footage of OJ Simpson pretending to stab BBC journalist during shocking TV interview resurfaces

It was announced on Thursday that OJ Simpson passed away at the age of 76.

Footage of OJ Simpson pretending to stab a BBC journalist during a TV interview has resurfaced.

On Thursday afternoon, it was announced by Simpson’s family that the former NFL star had passed away at the age of 76 after a battle with cancer.

A statement said on social media: “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

“During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

On the back of this news, footage of Ruby Wax talking about her interview with Simpson has resurfaced. You can watch the footage below.

She said: “Afterwards, I did a piece to camera saying ‘I’ve been fixed up and I don't know who my date is going to be’ and I'd open to door and it would be him.

“But when he was out there, all the trays were out there and he was looking for a knife, to fool me when the door was open but there was no knife so he grabbed a banana.”

Wax added: “And then OJ called me up on April’s Fools Day in London and said ‘I killed her’, and then went ‘April Fools.’”

Speaking about the first time she met Simpson, Wax said: “The first night we went out, we went out with his sister, and all these women came to the table and said ‘Can we meet afterwards’. They came every night and they want to sleep with a criminal.

“I think he wanted me to bust him, he said out of nowhere ‘Want to know what my favourite poem is’ and and he went into ‘Lizzie Borden took an axe, And gave her mother forty whacks; When she saw what she had done, She gave her father forty-one’.

“I thought I could bust him. [I thought] he'd say on air "Yes he did it", and i'd get him in jail. So I was being public defender.”

During his NFL career, Simpson played for the Buffalo Bills between 1969 and 177, before representing the San Francisco 49ers from 1978 to 1979.
