Khamzat Chimaev Makes Vicious Prediction For Potential UFC Fight Against Conor McGregor

Rising MMA star Khamzat Chimaev promises to finish Conor McGregor in the first round if they get matched against each other in the UFC.

Chimaev, 26, called for a showdown with McGregor who accepted his challenge on social media.

And if the UFC pair the two fighters against each other, the undefeated Swedish welterweight believes the Irishman won't see the second round.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Chimaev made a bold first round prediction - saying he'd "smash" his face.

"I know I can beat every fighter in the top 10. I don't see somebody that can stop me. I am going to finish everybody. Conor McGregor, I'm going to finish him in the first round, brother. I promise you, brother, I'm going to finish him in the first round," he revealed.

"Let's fight. Don't talk, fight. If you're real gangster, if you're real man, then don't talk on Instagram.

"Just come in the cage and talk in the cage and say something to me. You're sitting in Ireland and talking to me while I sit in Sweden. We can meet in Abu Dhabi or Las Vegas. Send me location like Khabib says. I come to smash your face."

UFC president Dana White confirmed that McGregor's tweet was in response to Chimaev's call out, but it's not a fight he's interested in making.

"That was Khamzat. Khamzat posted, 'I want Nate Diaz, (Jorge) Masvidal, or McGregor,' and McGregor said, 'I accept,'" White explained.

When asked about McGregor vs. Chimaev, he replied: "No. Listen, Conor's retired. Conor's move right now is sit back, see how this year plays out, and see what's next for him. You know he wants the Khabib (Nurmagomedov) fight, [Nurmagomedov fights Justin Gaethje on] Oct. 24., so we'll see."

He added: "We're trying to get him figured out right now.

"Listen, this kid wants to fight every weekend and he's not joking. He wants to fight every weekend. Obviously, in this climate, that's tough to do, but I love that sh*t and I want to do it. When this kid wants to fight, I'm gonna make it happen. I love guys with that mentality. This guy's the real deal.

"Do you guys realize that the kid we matched him up with from the U.K., the last fight he had, that dude is a badass.

"That guy is legit. Don't let the way the fight played out fool you. That kid was very good and [Chimaev] made him look not very good. This guy's at a whole other level. This dude is real."
