Aron Canet is a lucky, lucky boy.

The Moto2 rider miraculously escaped unharmed after a frightening incident during the qualifying stages of the Portuguese Grand Prix.

After coming off his bike, the 21-year-old was left crawling on his hands and knees in the middle of the track while the other riders raced past him.

The horror incident left the motorsport community in shock as Canet literally cheated death.

The wild moment unfolded at turn eight of the Algarve circuit in Portugal.

As Canet approached the tricky corner he lost control of his bike and hit the deck with great force.

But unlike most crashes, Canet didn't slide onto the gravel surrounding the track.

Instead, he somehow stayed on the tarmac which put him dead in line with the other oncoming riders.

Seen scrambling in a desperate bid to avoid bing hit, Canet crawled on his hands and knees to the circuit's edge as several riders zipped past him.

The Spaniard was inches from coming into contact with motorbikes that were travelling upwards of 200kph.

While Canet did well to keep his cool in the life or death situation, the other riders must be congratulated too for successfully bobbing and weaving past the stranded figure.

What makes their efforts even more impressive was the fact they were racing over a hill crest which would have undoubtedly restricted their vision.

Incredibly, Canet retrieved his stray bike and was able to continue the qualifying session - eventually finishing in 15th.

These moto riders are just built different, and this latest incident proves it
