Piers Morgan aims four digs at Erik ten Hag and Man Utd including stunning Cristiano Ronaldo stat

Manchester United suffered their 13th defeat of the season and Piers Morgan immediately went in on Erik ten Hag.

Piers Morgan couldn't resist a number of digs at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after his side suffered a 13th defeat of the season against West Ham.

United lost 2-0 at the London Stadium, with Jarrod Bowen and Mohamed Kudus both finding the net in the second half.

The Red Devils were poor yet again and have now lost more games before Christmas than any other season.

They have also failed to score for four games on the trot, leading to more pressure being put on Ten Hag.

After the lunchtime kick-off, Arsenal fan Morgan couldn't help but lay into the Dutchman.

He took to X, first reposting a tweet which described Ten Hag as "the biggest turkey you’ll see this festive season".

He then rubbed salt in the wounds by laughing at United's fans for leaving early, writing: "Got to feel sorry for United fans, they never get to see a full 90mins anymore."

A third post from the Talk TV presenter saw him jokingly comment "Ten Hag’s breaking so many records" following another game without scoring.

His fourth and final reaction was of course related to his pal Cristiano Ronaldo, who gave that tell-all interview slating Ten Hag which ultimately resulted in his departure.

He shared a stat which revealed that both Wout Weghorst and Rasmus Hojlund both failed to find the net in the league in a total of 31 games, compared to Ronaldo's 18 goals in 30 matches.

United take on high-flying Aston Villa on Boxing Day at Old Trafford and are in danger of making it five games without a goal.

However, Ten Hag remains confident in his forward options despite recent struggles.

“They’ve proved in the past they can do it," he said, as per The Independent.

"But we also have to acknowledge the fact that we didn’t do it as a team. We have to take responsibility. Football is about winning games and scoring goals.

“They are capable of it. I know [Marcus] Rashford can score, [Rasmus] Hojlund can score, Garnacho can score, Bruno [Fernandes] can score, Scott McTominay can score. We have scoring abilities in our squad and also from set plays. At this moment we’re not doing it.

“They have to stick together and believe in themselves that they can do it. To get where you have to be to score and that is to get in the box especially in the double six-yard box, you have to arrive as a striker.”
