Conor McGregor shows off acting skills in Road House as incredible first trailer released

UFC superstar Conor McGregor is making his film debut in a movie about MMA.

The trailer for Conor McGregor's film debut has been released, with the UFC superstar joining Jake Gyllenhaal in the remake of the 1989 movie 'Road House'.

The film, which is being released by One Media and will be available to watch on Amazon Prime video, follows former MMA fighter Elwood Dalton (Gyllenhaal) who has now become a bouncer at a rough roadside bar in Florida Keys.

The trailer has just dropped and sees McGregor cause chaos from around one minute and 30 seconds onwards.

The name of his character appears to be 'Knox' but the Irishman carries the same persona and even plants a headbutt on Gyllenhaal's character Dalton after smashing up a bar.

He gives the ex brawler a "tip" by telling him "to never let anyone get this close" before knocking him to the deck.

"Fight icon Conor McGregor expands his storied career into film to join Jake Gyllenhaal in the reimagining of the beloved classic, Road House," Amazon Studios said.

Filming took place in the Dominican Republic but also at a UFC event in Las Vegas.

He gatecrashed the weigh-ins for Jon Jones' heavyweight title defence against Cyril Gane at UFC 285 to announce Gyllenhaal's mock weigh-in against UFC legend Jay Hieron.

Gyllenhaal would then step into the Octagon against Hieron, who plays Jack Harris, and secured a vicious victory.

Hyping up the film's release at the end of March McGregor took to X to write:

"Fighting, acting, there’s nothing this Mac can’t do! Here’s the trailer featuring my brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, and me going toe-to-toe in the wildest action movie ever – Road House!

"My acting debut is gonna leave a mark! Long live Knox!” Road House is open for business March 21 on @primevideo. #RoadHouseMovie."

McGregor is believed to have been inspired to take the role after watching the original starring Patrick Swayze.
