Furious fans think Super Bowl was 'rigged' after Kansas City Chiefs beat San Francisco 49ers

Furious fans think Super Bowl was 'rigged' after Kansas City Chiefs beat San Francisco 49ers

Kansas City Chiefs needed overtime to beat San Francisco 49ers.

Angry fans believe Super Bowl 58 was 'rigged' following Kansas City Chiefs' dramatic victory over San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The Chiefs beat the 49ers 25-22 in overtime, winning their third Super Bowl title in just five years.

Mecole Hardman Jr. scored the game-winning touchdown following Patrick Mahomes' pass.

It was only the second time in Super Bowl history that a match went into overtime.

Taylor Swift, who watched the game alongside Blake Lively and Ice Spice, was in attendance to see boyfriend Travis Kelce lift the iconic Vince Lombardi trophy.

Despite the thrilling nature of the showdown in Las Vegas, some viewers were left raging with the result.

Furious NFL fans took to social media to call Super Bowl 58 a 'rigged' contest after overtime was needed to determine the result in favour of the Chiefs.

One X user wrote: "49ers deserved that win. It’s so rigged I hope you guys can see it for what it is, truly rigged. Chiefs you guys got so lucky Taylor swift bailed you guys out."

A second tweeted: "This sh*t is so f**king rigged i am sick to my stomach."

A third added: "F**king stupid disgusting fixed game."

A fourth said: "NFL IS NOT A REAL SPORT, THIS SH*T WAS SCRIPTED FOR CHIEFS TO WIN."

Another claimed: "The NFL really rigged the Chiefs win just for that Taylor Swift money."

Speaking after throwing the game-winning touchdown, Mahomes said: "This game was a microcosm of our whole entire season.

"The defense kept us in there and the offense made plays when it counted. I'm proud of the guys, they kept believing. Just know that the Kansas City Chiefs are never underdogs."

On his game-winning touchdown, Hardman Jr revealed: "I blacked out man. I forgot we actually won the game."

It's back-to-back Super Bowl titles for the Chiefs following their victory over Philadelphia Eagles last year.
