Someone has created a Super Bowl-winning team made up of footballers, it's pure genius

Super Bowl LVII is done and dusted and it was arguably one of the best in history.

A high-scoring game which finished 38-35, it was the Kansas City Chiefs who ended up hoisting the Lombardi trophy high in the air while the Philadelphia Eagles watched on.

Patrick Mahomes was crowned MVP, of course, but his individual heroics seemed to get people thinking.

The team over at Transfermarkt decided to put together their own offensive team made up entirely of footballers – and it's pure gold.

The caption for their social media post read: "This team could definitely score some touchdowns and get the Lombardi trophy!"

Their offensive line featured some man mountain ballers with Romelu Lukaku player centre.

He had Harry Maguire and Kalidou Koulibaly either side of him as guards while Virgil van Dijk and Dayot Upamecano took up the tackle positions.

Sitting behind that wall of big unit blockers was the quarterback, Kevin De Bruyne who would be effortlessly spraying laser-like passes all day long.

For his targets, he had speedsters Kylian Mbappe and Rafael Leão as the wide receivers.

And, of course, it was only fitting that 6-foot-4-inch Erling Haaland was De Bruyne's ever-reliable tight end.

When it comes to carrying the ball, as running backs, that would be Alphonso Davies and Victor Osimhen's jobs.

Overseeing the entire offence was tactical mastermind Cristiano Ronaldo as the play-calling coordinator.

Although Transfermarkt don't explain their reasonings for their selections, it's easy to see why they've picked them.

When the offensive team was posted online, fans flocked to the comments section to have their say.

One person replied: "I feel that I understand American football positions better just from who you placed in."

While another said: "You might as well forfeit with Maguire at guard. You getting sacked every play."

As a third asked: "How do you not have Adama Traore."

And a fourth chimed in, joking: That's an illegal formation, needs another player at the line. 5 yard penalty, and loss of down."
