Colby Covington Calls Out 'Woke Athlete LeBron James' Before Ringing Donald Trump on Live TV

The devout Trump supporter then labelled LA Lakers star LeBron a 'spineless coward' before receiving a call from the US President himself.

Love him or loathe him, Colby Covington never fails to disappoint.

The controversial UFC star sent a message to the rest of the welterweight division yesterday after coming out on top in his grudge match with former 170-pound champion Tyron Woodley.

But instead of letting his dominant performance inside the octagon do the talking, someone from the UFC made the mistake of handing Covington the microphone after the fight.

And, well, let's just say that the former interim champ didn't hold back.

"I want to dedicate this fight to all the first responders, all the military out there," Covington told the ESPN studio while draped in an American flag.

"This world would not be safe without you guys, you keep us safe, and not these woke athletes. I'm sick of these spineless cowards like LeBron James."

And we wasn't done there.

It's no secret that the trash-talking, tattoo-sporting Covington is a die-hard Donald Trump supporter.

Often seen dubbing a 'Make America Great Again' hat, Covington switched it up this time so that his red cap now read 'Keep America Great'.

And he took his time in the spotlight to let everyone know that the President was calling to congratulate him.

"Oh, the POTUS (President of the United States) is calling me! Mr President," he continued.

On the other end of the line, Trump was heard saying: "You are a great fighter, man. Outstanding. You make it look so easy. I don't know how you do that. Congratulations.

"I wanted to watch that fight tonight. I wanted to watch it. You were great."

Covington couldn't barely contain his excitement.

"Thank you so much Mr President," he replied.

"You gave me the dragon energy when you shook my hand on Sunday at your rally. It doesn't matter if King Kong was in front of me, I was not going to lose after getting to shake your hand."

Colby Covington is a Donald Trump super-fan.

And, unsurprisingly, it didn't take long for people to flock to social media to react to the bizarre live television moment.

While some (mainly fellow Trump supporters) praised Covington, others were quick to slam him.

It would take ages for us to list every single awesome response to Covington's antics, but perhaps the best came from Ice Cube's son O'Shea Jackson Junior.

The 'Straight Outta Compton' actor took to social media to address the fact that Covington had referred to certain people as 'woke athletes'.

He tweeted: "F*** you Colby Covington. Vote for who you wanna vote for. Praise who you wanna praise. That part don't matter to me. When I hear you say "these woke athletes". It tells me "Black athletes" or "athletes who care about the advancement of black people in this country". Unnecessary."
