Supercomputer drops huge Super Bowl LVII prediction for Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs

A supercomputer has had a tough time predicting who will come out on top between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LVII.

The Chiefs punched their ticket after Patrick Mahomes’ heroics against the Cincinnati Bengals, with Andy Reid’s men winning 23-20 in the AFC Championship clash.

The Eagles, meanwhile, secured their place at Super Bowl LVII after their 31-7 steamrolling of the San Francisco 49ers in their NFC Championship showdown.

The Chiefs and the Eagles will now clash at the NFL extravaganza on 12th February at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

ESPN’s NFL Football Power Index has found it difficult to separate the two teams, giving the Chiefs and the Eagles exactly a 50 per cent chance of winning the match.

However, Reid’s Chiefs narrowly edge out Nick Sirianni’s Eagles on the Index’s FPI, which takes into account a team’s “real strength on net points.”

Reid is set for a reunion with Sirianni, who kicked off his career with the Chiefs before he was released by the Chiefs’ current head coach.

Despite not retaining Sirianni for his coaching staff, Reid hailed the Eagles boss as a “special” coach ahead of their two sides competing for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

“When I came here, I was told Nick Sirianni -- this guy is really a special coach,” he told reporters via a video call.

“Really, a good football coach. But I had David [Culley]. David was my assistant head coach and he’d been with me for 14 years and so he was coming with me. And I had to make that determination to keep Nick or not.

“And I knew being as good as he was and the reputation he had, I knew he was going to get something. And so, it’s worked out great for him.”
